The first business to support City's Urban Forest Strategy
We are thrilled to be the first (!) business in the City of Canning to support the council's Urban Forest Strategy by donating ten trees. An outstanding achievement with hopefully many more like-minded companies to follow.
About the Urban Forest Strategy
The Urban Forest Strategy is an ambitious plan to plant 61,215 trees over the next ten years. The trees would translate to an increase of 110 hectares in canopy cover City-wide. This year alone, the City of Canning targets tree-planting efforts in the high heat, low canopy suburbs of East Cannington and Queens Park. They will be planting up to 3,000 trees in these areas alone. A great way to support the community for StrataGreen is to give back to the community that supported us for 20 years.
Trees mark 20 Years of Growth
Trees are an excellent way for StrataGreen to mark 20 years of Growth. The StrataGreen team planted one Eucalyptus tree already; the other nine will follow in May 2022. Indeed, we will use our favourite TerraCottem Arbor soil conditioner to support plant growth and water retention again. In addition, recyclable Tree Coach stakes will help the young trees grow strong. If you are ever on a stroll in the Canning Vale gardens, come to say hello to our tree, you can spot it thanks to our shiny, new plaque.
