How was TerraCottem specified to the oval?
Googong’s new, so far unnamed, 1.7-hectare oval has TerraCottem Universal mixed into the sand. The rates are 150 grams per square metre to a depth of 150mm profile. The Santa Ana Couch turf was laid four weeks ago with solid root penetration of 110mm measured just recently.
The landscaping business, Green Options (Jon Tait), in collaboration with HUON Constructions and the developers from PEET Limited, designed and constructed the oval with only two key specifications invaluable for a successful result: 1) Irrigation from the local dealer (Rainbird) and 2) TerraCottem soil conditioner for faster establishment and longevity.

The results are excellent and not short of spectacular. “This field is perfect for an AFL team, and it would be great to see some reserve grade matches put on to show off the field”, says Jon Tait, from the landscaping business Green Options.
