BioTek Biodegradable Pins

BioTek Gripper Pins are a safe durable alternative to traditional steel u-pins and are used for the securing of weedmat, jute and coir matting, soil saver, geotextiles and turf. They are manufactured entirely from Polymaize. Polymaize is a fully biodegradable material manufactured from renewable resources, mainly corn. It contains no crude oil-based plastic at all.
Over time, living organisms transform Polymaize into water, carbon dioxide and fertile humus leaving no toxic or synthetic residue or waste in the soil. Traditional steel pins corrode away over time, often elevating sharp rusty spikes in the ground, and becoming a real injury risk to both humans and animals. BioTek Pins are available in a 175mm long straight pin for hard soil and a 280mm long gripper pin for soft sandy soils and steep slopes.
The special gripper tips on the BioTek 280mm pin gives superior ground holding in loose, sandy or soft soil. Holding strength has been measured to 6 times the capacity of straight pins and stakes.
