Additional Information
Root Pruning Pots provide an effective growing solution for producing plants with stronger, healthier and more evenly distributed root systems.
Unlike conventional solid-sided pots where roots can continue growing around the inside of the container, root pruning pots expose developing root tips to air. This naturally stops growth at the tip and encourages the plant to produce new lateral roots further back within the growing media.
The result is a dense, fibrous root system with reduced root circling, helping produce quality plants that are better prepared for transplanting and establishment.
The open design also promotes airflow throughout the root zone and provides effective drainage, making these pots particularly well suited to professional nursery production, tree growing and other horticultural applications.
Available in three capacities, growers can select the appropriate pot size for different stages of plant development.

How Root Pruning Pots Work
As actively growing roots reach openings in the pot, exposure to air causes the root tip to naturally stop extending. Rather than continuing to circle around the container, the plant responds by developing additional lateral roots further back along the root system.
This repeated branching encourages a more fibrous and evenly distributed root structure, helping prevent the tightly wound root systems commonly associated with traditional pots.
