Rhinoweld Welded Mesh Gabions are ideal for architectural applications such as letterboxes, garden seats, flower pots, retaining structures, feature wall claddings, sound walls, landscape features and many other applications that require the beauty of natural rock structures with the strength of the steel cage. You are only limited by your imagination!

All wire conforms to international standards for tensile strength and tolerances and are manufactured to ISO9001 accreditations. The wire is coated in a heavy Galfan protection that meets the international standards for both consistency and quality of such a coating.

Welded Mesh Gabions

Whether you are using them for erosion control, earth retention, soil stabilisation, flood control or an eye-catching feature wall, Rhinoweld Gabions are a versatile and high calibre structure designed with a Galfan coating which allows it to last for years even under the most treacherous weather conditions.

Gabion Kits

To make your purchase even easier, Rhinoweld Gabion Kits are available which includes all accessories needed to construct a Rhinoweld basket easily and efficiently. No time wasted trying to calculate number of mesh panels or spirals, we’ve done the work for you!

In addition, if you are wishing to join multiple structures together we’ve done our best to make it more economical for you by designing an ‘add-on’ kit which provides you with the panels and accessories to join multiple Gabions together without having to waste money and supplies on buying multiple full kits.

“Absolutely unparalleled products and service. I'm confident that this store will be the next big thing in its industry, and that its products will be timeless.”

Things to Consider

Rhinoweld Gabions are supplied as flat packed panels and are assembled onsite with the use of spiral joiners or for larger scale projects, ‘C’Clips and a Lacing gun, which is available for hire or purchase through StrataGreen.

Large retaining structures can be formed with Rhinoweld Gabions. However, you should ensure that you seek the necessary statutory approvals for each project, which may mean engaging a qualified engineer who is accustomed to the design of gabion structures and who will evaluate the site, soil and drainage considerations of the project.

The choice of infill rock is yours, however you should consider which is the most suitable type that is congruent with the design requirements. There are many varieties of rock which enhances the physical appearance of the structure through texture, shape and colour. Recycled materials such as concrete or brick is also an option if the project complements. However, be cautious that that the infill rock is compatible with the mesh size of the gabion. For example, if using a 100mm x 50mm mesh gabion, we suggest a rock graded between 75mm and 150mm. Although the weight of the rock will depend on the material in use, you should allow roughly 1.8 tonne of rock per cubic metre of Rhinoweld gabion.

Rhinoweld Gabions are a modular unit composed of a number elements, all sold separately through StrataGreen. These include: End Panels, Base Panels, Top Panels, Side Panels, Bracing Wires and Spirals or ‘C’ Clips. The amount of panels required depends on the shape and size of your structure.
